“What We Lose When Movie Theaters Go Upscale”

A story about the decline of the communal experience of watching a movie with strangers. The pandemic forced many movie theaters to upgrade amenities to bring customers back, leaving small, independent theaters struggling to keep up. This story centered around the Dedham Community Theatre (est. 1927) and its owner, Paul McMurtry who has been working here since his youth.
